Owner operator
Job description
We are looking for class A licensed owner operators who will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods and other articles of trade to our customers. You will be tasked with driving and maintaining your truck and assigned trailer, as well as working closely with our team of dispatchers to plan routes and track deliveries.
A Class A CDL or commercial driver license is required. Successful candidates must have a clean motor vehicle driving record, a clean FMCSA PSP and must pass a drug test. Owner Operator Responsibilities:
- Drive long distances to deliver goods to customers, approximately 3000-3500 miles per week.
- Record cargo deliveries.
- Refuel and maintain a clean and presentable tractor and trailer.
- Assure you are clean, professional and presentable at customer facilities
- Report road incidents to the dispatcher.
- Follow traffic laws.
- Inspect truck and trailer and record and report issues.
- Keep tractor and trailer in safe and legal operation per the FMCSRs
- Follow accident procedures as stated in safety policy.
- Keep activities log and log hours of service via KeepTruckin ELD.
- Report mechanical problems to maintenance personnel.
- Plan routes using a truck GPS system and road atlas.
- Get goods to the client on time.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
- Keep commercial driver license and medical certificate up to date.
