Customer Sales Rep
Job description
As a Customer Sales Rep, you will be responsible for lead generation, prospecting, pitching, and developing new customer relationships. Initially we will welcome all customer opportunities. Long-term there will be an emphasis to target customers in recession-proof industries like automotive, electronic, pharmaceutical & medical, and a lesser emphasis on cyclical industries. Our focus is to match freight up on our 53-foot dura plate vans. When that is not possible, we will utilize our carrier partners.
We are looking for a rep with a book of business. In addition, a candidate who knows how to build one and can work with others – a team player. This candidate should be self-driven, team-oriented, and professional. As we grow and build our company, this role will have the option to continue to build a book of business around a strong commission-based comp plan or follow a more executive leadership path down the road.
What we are looking for:
- 2 years + transportation/logistics experience preferred
- Proven track record of prospecting and building accounts and client relationships
- Knowledgeable in automotive, medical, electronics and pharmaceutical industries preferred
- Any experience managing a team of 3 or more salespersons is a plus!
- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress in a composed manner
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong ethical and moral codes
